Window regulator query
My drivers window has been giving me problems lately - noisy, horrible scraping, occasional 'bangs', inching up or not moving, etc.
I took the door panel off today to have a look and to see if lubrication would help. No joy. Rather than go second hand, I have ordered a new Lucas regulator with motor attached. The item is described as 'without comfort function'. The photo of the connector on the Lucas item shows a 2 wire set-up. I looked at the existing regulator motor, which has only 2 wires running into it. The window currently has one-shot opening/closing and the notorious anti trap functions. I am assuming the motor works on an on or off basis and the one shot and anti trap functions are controlled elsewhere. My question is - am I correct, in which case the new regulator should operate the same as the existing? Or will I have lost my one-shot and anti trap functions? |

Has anyone else ever replaced the driver's side regulator with a new, non-rover item?
