Angry rover zt engine

Hi I bought my zt with a engine fault bought a 75 connoisseur took ence
and gearbox out now it says ep on display I know it was good engine and gearbox I bought another ecu kit fitted it it turns on starter but when I move selector out of park it still turns over any ideas

I think that you need to be more specific, but buying bits and pieces on their own (second-hand or new) is not such a good idea as you will probably need a T4 session on the car.....

It sounds as if the selector cable and/or starter inhibitor switch needs adjustment or repair.

It doesn't sound that way to me Simon

The OP has for some reason fitted an ECU set from a manual car, which is why his car is displaying [EP] the ECM is not communicating with the Jatco ECU, and is able to crank in any gear.

Tristan, just out of curiosity why have you fitted an "ECU set" to your car?, was there a defect in the original, and if so do you still have the original, or at least the immobiliser and the key back.

A bit more information is required here from the OP
