Could be any of the bushes in the diagram above wearing out. Item 5 adjusts the rear toe of the wheels. The rear wheels have to be tracked first. If they say they can only track the front, or only track the front first, have your money back if you have paid.

I haven't had a good look but when I changed the discs and pads I had a wiggle of the shock as I wondered if they might have gone as it appeared to sit a bit low.

I've paid for it already so will go back and give them a chance to fix, will ask if they can investigate the bushes suggested. I assumed that as part of an MOT they would have been checked and highlighted if worn. Will see what they say.

If it can't be done I will probably try kwik-fit as I just read a post that the rears weren't aligned very well from the factory and requires a system (that kwikfit use) which can align independent from front / rear.

Well there must be something wrong, I have had my Tourer for 16 years and have never found the rear tyre wear excessive. It also have never felt skittish on the rear end.

Well, my story… for a year or so now, my n/s rear has been wearing rapidly on the outer edge. I had it booked in for 4W alignment, then had to cancel, so it hasn't been done.

Then it had to get serviced, and my mechanic told me my rear upper arms were shot, with the n/s one rusted through in one place, so we’re hypothesising that may have allowed the wheel to sit incorrectly… I’ll find out in time to come, as I’ve swapped the rear wheels, so if the n/s one doesn't wear in the same way now, we’ll know that was the problem…

If it’s still doing it, I’ll get the 4W done. Though it never did it till maybe a year ago, so not sure how the adjustment could move… there again, I don’t know much about it, but it looks like a big bolt that isn't going anywhere…

The rear shocks on my zt have gone, the light misting of oil on them was cleaned off and not a prob on the mot, however they are the cause of the skittishness over bumps etc with my car.
My previous derv 75 auto suffered the same problem.

I've had two 75 Tourers & never had any uneven tyre wear but on both had 4 wheel alignment checked/adjusted straight away . It is no use just setting the front without ensuring the rear is set correctly first.

That is you can adjust toe
P. S. T. B. Honest they can do front better too
But rear I doubt can go in the middle l can't
See difference as there in your picture no required numbers for green ( middle) but should come closer.
Good luck

The rears are about 2 degrees out of kilter. Here's the final specs issued by MGR.

Check them against the images. The image doesn't show the Thrust Angle, which is vital for correct operation. Note the rear end loading requirement.
Wherever you go for getting it fixed, ensure their specs match the MGR specs.
