well the old girl is now with her new owners

as soon as they drove off I was having regrets. Never owned a car before that I was so smitten with. Economics dictated though and rightly so. If my annual mileage was less I wouldn't have bothered but I estimate annual savings of over £1,000 per year, bought a Ford Fiesta 1.4 TDCI. £35 road tax so £160 ish saved and insurance is less than half at just £200.
Not looking forward to "basic" motoring again, been a bit spoilt with the equipment level the 75 had.

Big thanks to all the advice I have had over the years from all you good folk.
I'll still hang around and enjoy the banter.

It's horrible having to say goodbye to your old car but you have to do what you can with the cost of motoring these days

I'm fortunate that my commute to work is such a short distance that my fuel needs aren't that bad, if I had miles to crunch there is no way I could afford to run my girl!

Are you staying on as an RS Sir?

Its a shame, I wonder why so many rs end up selling their cars?

It's such a shame, but completely understandable.

I'm in the same boat, doing about 15k a year in my ZT and feel like the £100+ a month I'd save by replacing it with a little runaround would be very handy indeed. Luckily nobody seems interested in buying my ZT so I guess I'll have to keep it

Let us know how you get on with the Fez, that DV4 engine is supposed to be extremely frugal, an the Fiesta isn't a bad steer by any means

Yes Tom it's disappointing but the correct move. I feel I will own a 75 again but not as a daily driver.
The fester is as bland as can be but done over 100 miles in it now and intend to do a few brim to brim mpg checks so will find out soon just how frugal it is although so far the digital fuel guage has not moved! It handles like a go-kart and is a bit of fun to drive and takes corners very well, just need a 160bhp re-map rather than the 67hp it has and ill be sorted
