Default Cambelt replacement

Hi,

I need to arrange for my v6 2.5ltr 2002 Rover 75 to have the cambelt replaced. I've had it ten years now.

Is there any recommended mobile Rover engineer/machanic that would be willing to come to London NW2 to do the job?

I also have something draining the battery, so would need the electrics checked too.

Would anyone know of a ball park figure to get the job completed?

Any advice would be appriciated.

Best wishes
JD

I would whole heartedly recommend a trip up the road to Lates (Lates600) near Coventry.

Ditto trip up to Lates near Coventry. Had them do my cam belts on my Tourers 2.0 litre V6 a few years ago. Drove over there from Clacton,Essex early one Saturday morning, watched them fit new belts, water pump etc while I waited and was almost back home near Clacton for 3pm kick off of footie on Sky. Only missed first twenty minutes of match.

Another vote for Lates from me too. Had my 2.0 v6 belts and water pump done about a month ago. I travelled 90 miles from S Yorks and was home by 13.30.

It was an education watching Lates and Pete do the job. They have all the required equipment, special tools etc and are so familiar with the kv6 that they
are able to work quickly and accurately.

Send Lates an e-mail asking for a quote.

Not helpful, just wanted an idea. Not a quote.

Thanks for all the responses. I'll contact Lates for a price.

I've been quoted £800 including £270 for the parts. But this is not from anyone I know. Says he needs to buy a special tool , so I'll need to wait a few weeks.

Best...
