Replaced the intercooler hose today with a silicone one, amazing how the original has ballooned up after being replaced just 40,000 miles ago.
Top hose mod has been done, managed to get it up to 88 degrees sat on the drive. I am taking it for a reasonable drive tomorrow to get a 4 wheel alignment done, so should be able to see what temperature it runs at on the motorway. Plus an opportunity to see what MPG I have managed to achieve with all this hard work. I had almost forgot to replace the rear blind, so gives me something to do tomorrow |

Dad's car is finished, I picked up another member in it earlier who thought it was petrol engined!
The only jobs not done was the door finishers and cdt badges. Not the end of the world. Hopefully it should last another 133,000 miles now |

I drove it earlier today and it did indeed go extremely well, comfortable, quiet & refined just like a proper 75! Oh & before anyone asks it wasn't me who thought it was petrol

Nope, that is a diesel manual, contrary to popular belief I am quite a fan of the diesel engine.

Happy Rover Owner!
Many thanks son for all your hard work on my car. What a difference you have made to it. It drives like a new car, and in reality it is probably a much better drive than new. The biggest difference is the light clutch and the quiet smooth drive. I had thought it was on its last legs, as it was so noisy and rough. The clutch is as light as on the smallest modern car, the not heavy muscle building thing these models are renowned for. I think the metal master cylinder and new clutch and flywheel although expensive were worth the cost. And without your efforts to source cheap parts and a reliable and cheap mechanic (Chris) I couldn't have considered it at all. Well done.
Oh and I should mention how you have improved the economy too. On my run back from Crewe to Bristol I achieved an indicated 60.1 mpg. Now that really does make the 75 diesel the only sensible choice for a high mileage Rover user. In fact, tell me of another luxury executive saloon of any age which can match that? You have restored the mechanics of my car to an amazing standard, and now it should fly through the MOT due in March. Thank you Jim for the battery too. I hadn't spotted mine was about to give up the ghost, which would have been very bad news with all the other maintenance bills due. You are very kind. So now I am actually looking forward to my drive to work on Monday morning for a change. And I promise to keep this car going for many years to come. Thanks again. Dad.

The light clutch is a rather good trait of the LUK/B&B clutch (which you have had fitted) - it's lovely.
I hope she gives you many more miles - happy motoring. Well done to all involved. I had a quick look at the car, and she's a real beauty - with lots of toys, too.

problem
The car has a problem under load / acceleration. It stutters slightly rather like a misfire on a petrol model. Not all the time but quite often. As it has new injectors could this be an issue with them?
