Good morning to the few
Not a good start to the day - son has just gone off for a morning's karting - and the first thing is that he's lost the number plate off the kart trailer en-route to the track.
Then - it's starting to rain and slick gokart tyres don't have a lot of grip in the wet
SWMBO and I are off shopping, before going back on the hospital visiting rota.
My sister is about to go into her 3rd week of hospitalisation, following an exploratory op. which should have seen her released after a couple of days.
Not good

Good morning all how is everyone, what are your plans for the weekend?

I see 2 cars along our road have been clamped for not having Road Tax, a BMW on a 59 plate and a Skoda on an 02 plate.

Nice and sunny again today following yesterday’s downpours!

At least the grass is looking better 👍

Hmm ... I'm intrigued. The OPG would normally only pay a refund into the account of the donor, the donor being your father. So is it the case that they did this but his bank/BS have then refused you access to his account pending proof of entitlement? If so there are a couple of ways to do this for smaller sums without the need for probate or letters of administration.

It is a sad reflection of the expenses fiddlers that banks/BS do not have to dance to the same tune on this. They can and do set their own limits on the sums that they will allow access to without probate or letters of administration. But I would pursue it with the attitude that everything is do-able ... it is just that the impossible might take a little longer.

I'm assuming that you obtained LPA yourself and did not outsource the job to a legal service that his bank/BS might have offered to you. If you paid for someone else to do the job then no, OPG fee excepted they are not likely to refund for any work that they might have done regardless of how far down the line the process went before it was ended.

G'day Phil - have you brought some dodgy weather over from Africa?
Last week, the outside temp gauge on the car was showing between 24 and 26 - this morning it was reading 12
I may have to put a pair of trousers on instead of my shorts!
AND - it's raining at Lords, thus calling a halt to more Indian wickets falling
Hope you and Jessica are OK and pleased to be in Blighty?

Afternoon all, been raining non stop here, saves me watering the plants which are looking very bedraggled battered down by the rain

I've been doing one of those 15 minute jobs which took 2 hours

I got 30 meters of flat Ethernet cable to move the cctv recorder, the kamp kommandant didn't like it where it was So i've been lifting the carpet edges up to lay this cable around the room & into the conservatory, It gets great reception there.

Those edging strips with tacks in to keep the carpet in place don't half hurt.

I had to shut the moggies out of the room as they were clawing the cable wanting to bite it

Little Maya is a sweet wee thing and I love her to bits but she's not the sharpest knife in the drawer. The kitchen door is never shut so the girls can wander in and out, trouble is that means flies getting in despite a curtain. Got some of those mega sticky fly papers, unrolled one then went to get a bit of string to hang it from the curtain rail. While I'm fixing the string on it Maya's curiosity got the better of her, "what's that?", walked up to investigate and got her nose stuck to it! She leapt back leaving a lot of the hair from around her nose and chin on it then looked at me as if it was my fault
