Love it!

Hi Eddie,

The bug is easily caught!

If you haven't already, try joining ACSI and use the sites in their network in mainland Europe and beyond during the low season periods.

Membership fee is easily recovered after a few nights and the sites are inspected annually.

Enjoy yourselves!

John

We currently have our fourth motorhome, 2008 Rimor Supabrig on a ford transit, owned this one for 8 years, great, solid van, travel to Spain and or Portugal, Italy, whichever takes our fancy every year.

Not a motorhomer, but a caravanned. We have had our caravan since new, its a 2007 Adria Altea 502dk, 5 berth, very lightweight and easy to tow.Its our first caravan, and we have no plans to change it, perhaps once the car is paid for, we might consider it, but a like for like replacement is now £16k.

I am looking at getting a small car to tow behind the motorhome as it is a bit too big to run around on small roads, possibly a fiat panda.

Hi eddie,

Do a bit of research on towing a small car behind. If the car is on a trailer then that is normally ok as all wheels are off the ground.

If you use an "A Frame" I think some some countries can happily fine you on the spot and "the wife" will have to drive behind you....!

The Caravan and Motorhome Club website might be a good place to start.

Regards

John

Spain certainly does not allow A frames.

As for a car to tow behind a MH - friends tow a little Hyundai i10. They’re very pleased with the set up.

We've owned this old VW since '96

it's never given me a moments trouble...

Incidentally, we had a look into A framing and as long as the towed vehicle weighs less than 750kg, it qualifies as an un-braked trailer and will be fine. For a short time we towed a Trabant with the bay.
