Somebody (suspect the neighbour had the grandkids along) was letting off fireworks here earlier. Suzy wasn't that bothered, Pops hid under a chair and Maya refused to be any more than 6" away from me. Maya's ok now but Pops is still a bit unsettled.

Its not good for them at all, just read on FB about an 18 month old dog that died as it was so scared by fireworks.

Morning Everyone.
Raining then the sun pops it's head out only for the rain clouds to blot it out.

Morning, or should I say evening. I have had about 3 hours sleep, I was tired when I went to bed, but yet again, couldn’t sleep. The wife was the same, but she was asleep before me. Despite taking 2 kalms, it was just impossible to sleep,I’m dreading tonight, as I need a good sleep prior to driving to Chester tomorrow morning. Now have to try and do a day’s work.

Morning all, it’s dry at the moment Jeff I’m sure you will sort that out though!
Back at the vets tonight with Meg to have her dressing changed, hopefully it’ll be healing nicely.

Morning all - a bit of a grey dank day, but as it's the first Monday of the month, it's haircut day - short back and sides and a coat of wax on top to keep the rain out. Spotted this on my travels and thought I would share it with fellow retirees on here: Why I Like Retirement ! Question: How many days in a week? Answer: 6 Saturdays, 1 Sunday Question: When is a retiree's bedtime? Answer: Two hours after he falls asleep on the couch. Question: What do you do all week? Answer: Monday to Friday, NOTHING. Saturday & Sunday, I rest. Question: What do retirees call a long lunch? Answer: Normal.

South of the Tyne its cloudy and dull, but north is bright and sunny. Will be heading back that way soon.

Are you allowed to drink Red Bull Richard? I find it helps me to keep going and it keeps me alert if I have to do a long drive and I have not slept properly the night before. Not everyone can drink it because the high caffeine content makes for peeing more etc
