Pre Production S Reg Rover 75 2.0 KV6 Club **SOLD**
SOLD TO FORUM MEMBER, CHEQUE IN POST! I have had this one on here before, I need to clear out a few cars and my wife tells me this is one of them. A Genuine Pre Production Car in White with its VIN Number of 1538 Current MOT to June and Tax to end of December. Known on the forum Pictures will be posted or you can see a couple on my personal profile Its a Pre-production Rover 75 Club Was Car of The Month August 2010 on http://www.aronline.co.uk/ Reg; S577 AOX Registered 15th February 1999 Build Date: 20th January 1999 2.0 litre V6 Manual Built with unusual extras; Sunroof HeadlampWash Traction Control My car was serviced at specialists, Austin Garages at Burton on Trent. Nick Bonthrone http://www.austingarages.co.uk/ has another one which he is working on. He advises that every pre production car has at least 3 factory fitted extras. Pre-Production cars have a different VIN Number sequence, This car has pre production features like Black Surrounds on the side repeater lenses. There are BMW Badges on a number of components where the parts were taken from other BMW Models. One of the steering column mouldings is obviously off pre production tooling. The Spare wheel looks original never used On Rover 75 and MG ZT forum it is described as probably the Youngest of the S Reg pre-production car on the Road. I would like to think that it was one of the cars that featured on the Tower Bridge Launch but I need to check if its got specially tuned horns! The car came to me with some Service History and I so far been unable to make contact with the early owners including one man who lived quite close to Longbridge so I expect he was an employee. It appears to have lived around Birmingham since new. Normally Manufacturers scrap these pilot build pre production cars but at MG Rover they were a further source of revenue. I believe that when BMW pulled out of Rover Group, the Launch cars were put in store and at 3 years old and after refurbishment, they were sold off to members of staff and many were sold to Hartwells of West Bromwich. I am trying to find a contemporary Newspaper ad for November/ December 2002 as the cars were listed by registration number and specification. I know that many LHD ones went straight to the Continent especially Spain. The Overall Condition is truly excellent and in White. its quite an eyecatcher. £1200 ono Ian Mobile; 07891 197782 Last edited by McNeillie; 18th January 2011 at 22:54.. Reason: added detail |
