Crows Nests !
Took this yesterday in Shropshire, a bit like a scene from a Hitchcock film as there were literally hundreds of crows above me making a loud noise (crowing ?) but at least I didnt get dumped on !

There's a few similar trees around the caravan site where I am at the moment, although they've suddenly become much greener in the last few days.
I've always used "caw" to describe the sound a crow makes - but that may just be a local dialect thing

Old country wisdom:
One Rook on his own? That be a Crow, Lots of Crows together? Them be Rooks.

Probably Rooks then as they seem to be more sociable than crows and nest in groups according to t' Internet whereas crows nest in pairs
