Default A sad post

Those of you that have never lost a pet will have no idea how devastated Angie and I feel today. Last night at 8.30 we lost our beloved cavalier Lady to catastrophic heart failure. We had five wonderful years with her, and I hope she felt the same. Some of you met her and Jess at various meets over the last few years, and I still can't believe she'll never totally ignore me when I call her again. I'm actually surprised at my own sense of loss, given that she never really liked me anyway. The only other time I've ever driven 70+ miles with tears streaming down my face was when my Father died. RIP lady.

So so sorry to hear that Phil. Last autumn we lost our Toy Poodle Milka, he'd been with us for over 17 years, longer than some children hang around. The only comfort is he passed away in his own bed at home. You will miss Lady as you would with any loss, just remember how much you enjoyed her company. If she was your only dog get another once you feel up to it, maybe even consider getting two, it makes losing one a wee bit easier to deal with.

When we lost Milka we still had Abbey (she was my parent's dog), after a few months we decided to fill the big hole Milka left and actually ended up with two, a Shih Tzu pup (Poppy) and a 14 month old Shih Tzu (Suzy), Poppy is plain mental and Suzy is the sweetest natured, most gentle dog we've ever had, puts up with all Poppy's carry on without complaining.

Thanks Steve. We still have Jess, who we got to keep Lady company. She's totally deaf, and as mad as a brush. Lol.

Cool

Losing a faithful pet is just as hard as losing a member of the family. Sorry to hear the news Phil & Angie.

We decided to get another dog, fell for Suzy. Her owner was moving to a flat that would be better for her infant but it was pet free. However, she was then told she could keep the dog so, understandably, pulled out of the deal. We went looking again, found Poppy, got her. A few weeks after getting Poppy the woman with Suzy contacted us again, the landlord had changed her mind, no dogs, would we still be interested. Initially I said no but then began thinking, Abbey is 12 years old and although Poppy just wanted to be friends and play Abbey wasn't having any of it! Suzy is only 14 months old, more chance of her getting on with Poppy. Took the chance and its worked out better than I ever could have hoped, Poppy and Suzy are almost inseparable and Abbey gets peace.

So terribly sorry to hear of your loss Phil & Angie - I know exactly how you feel as we lost both of our Chihuahua's within a week of each other. The one was expected but little Fudge was a complete shock from a massive seizure. Although it is now more than 6 months I miss them both terribly, especially at feed times - I used to love watching them gobble down their dinner - now no more....

So I grieve with you both now - I have never been so sad, and it saddens me all over again hearing of your loss....

"KNOWING"...

If I had known that on that day our time was near the end
I would have done things differently, my forever friend.
I would have stayed right next to you deep into the night
but I thought I’d see you in the early morning light.

And so I said “Good night” to you as I walked in through the door
never thinking of the time when I’d see you no more.
But if I had known that on that day our time was at the end
I would have done things so differently, my forever friend.

Rest In Peace "Lady".

So Sorry Phil, was she the hiding under the table one or the running around one when I came over to see you ? .

Dunno about Dogs .. I can mostly get over losing our cats, but never had another Dog since our Old 22 yr old Mutt Bruno passed on , that was over 20years ago now .
