Hi Jules.
I have decided that the specialist components kit is probably the best for me and am hoping to receive that tomorrow or Wednesday. Will probably fit it Thursday along with the ron box. Will let you know how it goes. Elliot. EDIT: Just got this through. Looks like Meziere's now added the part officially to the site. --- I just added the part to the website: http://www.meziere.com/ps-1508-1521-.aspx and the thermostat: http://www.meziere.com/ps-570-539-wn0070195.aspx let me know if you need more information. Sincerely, Don Meziere Last edited by ellnic; 5th April 2011 at 03:04.. Reason: Additional info. |

Hi guys n gals. I don't know if there is another thread somewhere to compare temperatures now the weather has got a bit warmer. But I thought I'd post my figures here for now.
With an outside temp between. 18.5c and 22.5c the temperature remained between 88c and 94c. That was with progressive driving but not flooring it. That's better than the 60c I had been getting. Although I'm interested to see what its like in the full flow of summer! Specialist components housing and qth107 without a hole. Regards steve

The only thing I've noticed is an even faster warm up.
I think its fine and don't even bother to monitor it with the OBD. It makes you wonder why the manufacturers didn't put it there in the first place - Oh Renault did with the R5, crafty these Frenchies. Last edited by flyer_phil; 22nd April 2011 at 08:54.. Reason: error |

I thought the same at first Flyer but then began to wonder what the extreme might be. Seeing as its a new thing and the temperature probably hasn't been that High for ages, I thought I'd keep an eye on it incase I have to do a long journey and something gives.
There now I've put the mockers on it Regards. Steve.

I used the QTH107 initially (not the one supplied by specialist components) but teh temperatures that I was getting were a but unnerving, especially under load. I changed it for the original plus a rivet in the hole and it seems to be running much better (temperature wise only). I seemd to be more stable at 88 to 89 maxing out at 95 and bottoming out at 85. The ambient temperature varied from 22 to 23.5. Think that's close to as hot as it's going to get over here so I'm much happier with this rather than the other qth107 stat.

Hi sof007. You have mirrored my thoughts. I may swap my 92 for an 88 just to be safe. A few lower degrees can only be better than a few higher.
Regards. Steve.

I have been running an inline specialist component with the QTH107 thermostat without problems, obd temp in the last couple of weeks reading between 86-93 degrees, I think it is opening at 90 deg not the 92 that it is rated at, but today I have a coolant leak coming from around the orignal thermostat housing, can't see the exact point of leak but needless to say I have now ordered a thermostat housing from Jules which will be fitted on its arrival. I don't think this problem is related to the inline thermostat, it's more than likely a seal thats gone, just bad luck that this mod has not given me the financial savings. I hope these Bank Holidays don't delay delivery of my new OE thermostat I miss not being able to use the 75 already and its not even been a day yet

Argh! Mike that's bad luck and a half mate.
I hope the new stat isn't too hard to fit. Are you going to leave the SC housing in place without the stat just incase the oem goes again? And would you be so kind as to post some temps you get with an oem stat please. I'd find that interesting Mike. Good luck and hope you're not off the road for too long. Regards. Steve
