Refitted engine under tray, used new screws and fittings all round,
Freed off sticking front passenger cup holder,
Rodded plenium drain tubes (good job really, found half an inch of water )

Got all the internals back in the transmission and the end plate on. Would you believe it? one of the 17mm bolts in the top right hand side is damaged so I've had to stop until I can get one from Sussex. At least there's only the FBH and battery to go back in once the engine has been lifted back up, I've managed to get everything else done before it rained.

Not today, but last Friday. Gearbox oil change, engine oil & filter change.

Car slips nicely into second gear now, no notchiness (is that a word? )

Used a syphon for the last oil change but wasn't happy with the results (too much sediment left, contaminating the 'new' oil immediately) so went for the old fashioned sump bolt technique. Much happier now

Just back from a 820 mile round trip to see my eldest daughter get married in Aberdeen last Saturday. Took the ZT fully loaded with 3 passengers and a bootfull of "stuff", averaged 49.5 mpg and never missed a beat. Didn't see another ZT the whole time I was in Scotland ( incl Glasgow, Dundee, Perth, Edinburgh) and very few Rover 75's, which really surprised me. Seems there are more of them on the road here in N Ireland....
