So I had a few days off (as a lot of people did), and havent waxed or polished the car for at least a year. Washed well nearly fortnightly since though. I had promised myself I would use my 2 year old polisher properly, using the multi pack of SSR 1 - SSR 3, along with Farelca 3, and their relevant pads. Fresh clay bars and some fallout remover.
All the enthusiasm Started with this Took the wheels off, snow foamed (two or three times), handwashed and fallout remover clay barred starting to look good. Polished with the Farelca 3 and SSR 1, some Auto Finesse Tough Prep, Poorboys sealant and Tough Coat (love that stuff). Finishing with Dodo Juice Light Fantastic, Auto Finesse glass cleaner and Tipple for the plastic and rubber. All the stuff! All great stuff, it really is great. So I finish with this A total of around 22-24 hours, my neighbours think I am nuts. 4 days washing and polishing the car, didnt even do the inside. It is still a silver car, a shiny silver car, but just as shiny as it is after its fortnightly snow foam and wash. But at least I know it is done, and hey, I got a bit of a tan............. anyone wanna buy a polisher?

I washed and waxed my Tourer, as you do on the not so cold days. I also had a local recommended guy fit my new stereo sat.nav. So far, it is almost a disaster. He superglued the unit to the plastic fascia I bought, but managed to spill the glue all over the left hand side and bottom right. Looks ugly. Plus it does not fit flush, the radio works but cannot get any sound out of usb connected or in the unit itself music songs, and whilst the reversing camera lights up when reverse is selected, there is nothing to see on the screen No voice instructions from the Sat Nav either, but then I don't know if IGO gives voice instructions or not...plus steering wheel controls not connected up...
Then he took out the plastic dash where the cup holder would go if there was one on the driver's side, and was trying to force the plastic parts back in...at that point, I said stop, as I'm sure I read somewhere on the forum that there is perhaps a clip you have to engage/depress when taking out/re-inserting the plastic bits? Does anyone know if I'm remembering this correctly? Anyway, parts safely tucked away in the glove box for now. I also saw the previous owner of my car, and he gifted me an old JVC harness and an OBD2 service reset tool!

I'm pretty sure the cover is just a blank and fits in like the surround for the traction control, heated seat buttons etc. But as with all thing plastic, take it steady

That's the plan... Eventually ...lol Wheels i picked up today are Comets with good winter tyres on in fair condition but i do prefer the contours so might wait until autumn and fit the Comets as winter wheels and get my Contours refurbed then.
