Hang on! You've made it more upright!
Now I'm confused!!! How on earth did you do that!?

I get this problem when I shoot in woodland with a wide angle lens. The trees tend to lean inwards. Nice and simple to correct in Lightroom. I am sure Jeff will explain.

How did you do it? I tried to correct it using the straightening tool in photoshop but every attempt made it look worse. I just assumed it was straight and it was just my eyes!
Hi Phil,

Was indeed the straightening tool although I did it in Lightroom.

If you adjust the vertical you need to also adjust horizontally as well.

Only works if you have enough space around the image to crop into with the straightening tool.

To avoid converging verticals on tall objects always best to step further back and reframe so the camera can be held straight if posssible to do so

Is lightroom significantly better than photoshop?

Hi Phil,

Not at all Sir,

Both are very powerful tools and I subscribe to Adobe Creative Cloud so have both at my disposal.

I tend to use Lightroom for my basic editing as I find it very quick.
If I need to get a bit more creative I can then export the file directly from Lightroom into Photoshop for further editing

We went to Ashdown House last weekend. Really nice place.
It's made out of chalk!

It's a stunning place. It looks a lot like a dolls house.

Criticism gratefully received.

Great shots Phil, the horizontal and vertical lines look ok. You have done a lovely shoot. I inherited a tilt-shift lens but it is Nikon and my camera is Olympus, so I have to do the lines in post edit.

Keep them coming

I've been in Ghent (Belgium) this week. I naturally took the camera and took loads of photos.
I'm currently going through them.
There was a lot of lightening this week and in a first for me, I managed to catch some on camera....

Thanks Trikey!
I went back to the hotel very quickly after taking this photo. It made me quite nervous.
I'm glad I got it, I just wish the lightening was a bit clearer.
