I once had a nice set of brushed steel caps, well that's what I thought they were. They turned out to be alloy and welded themselves to the brass thread. They were an absolute nightmare to remove.

Anything that is chromed will be fine.

I bought these in December 2012 and the cap itself is of very high quality, and as of yet no problems as you describe.
But I do know what you mean, I once bought a set like you describe many years ago and only after a few weeks I couldn't get them off! Had to eventually carefully cut them off......

Unfortunately Pab the stems were rubber and I was scared of tearing the whole thing off!....

The fashionable black expansion tank.. Looks goog. The yellow dipstick could do with being black to match the oil cap.

Superb.

I just need to get behind the wheel, and I can say I've driven every variant. I've driven the 260 in basic form courtesy of Aldo Ross. This car is now owned by MG Lifestyle in Halifax.
