Must be good for the mpg. How many mpg do you now get with the 50 mph limit on most roads please.

I was getting an indicated 61.4 mpg after doing a steady-ish 50 mph for about 120 miles of congested motorway with a bit of a load on. Given the over-read on the IPK, that's probably about 59 mpg. The more stopping and starting you do, the less you get, of course. This little experiment is a good case in point - over 718 miles, my average speed was just short of 50 mph (IIRC it was 48.4) so with braking, traffic, higher speeds at times etc, 54-ish is more realistic. Cheers, Simon. Last edited by Tourist; 31st December 2018 at 15:36.. |

During 2018 my remapped cdti auto has achieved 48.4 AVERAGE dividing 5200 miles by the gallons purchased. I am happy! |

Regularly get over 600 to a tank on the CDT manual. It's easily 12-15 mpg more frugal than the Auto.

I have found if you can get over 200 miles from brimming to three quarter tank on the dial, you are going to get around 700 miles from a tank full easy.If you only get 200 when half a tank indicated, you are not getting many miles to a gallon.Thats in a diesel of course.
