Ive been using 2 stroke now for a good while. Its does make the car smoother and quieter. You can get a litre at eurocarparts for £4.39, with our engine we can use any 2 stroke oil, cheaper the better, we don't have particulate filters so don't need to worry about ash content.

Jules is the CDT Taxi still on its original camchains?

We believe so Mike, but they've only owned it since 120k.
Some say these chains are for life!!

Also Singvogel Thanks for the info it is an interesting debate.
Even without any experimentation though, some M47's are noisier and less balanced than others.

For instance I have 50k and 200k examples in at the mo.
Guess which one is the quieter of the 2?
Yes you've guessed it the high miler !

My conspiracy theory is that the M47(R) units destined for the 75's were built less carefully than the M47 version destined for BMW cars.
So the tolerances were wider etc.

I drove many the 75's from nearly new and even then, the power and smoothness from car to car (all Connoisseurs) varied tremendously.

Keep the evidence coming.............
