I have never seen the bodyshell give way at the top shock mount, hopefully it will be a rusted out mount!!

Thanks Trikey, I was pretty shocked to see it. I know I hit some nasty bumps, but I did not think it was bad enough to cause this. Hopefully it will be the top mount only.

Not exactly what I did to my ZTT today but called on Marinabrian today on my way back south after my son's wedding in East Lothian.
I needed a second key for the Ignition Blue 190 ZTT I bought in May so Brian was convenient living just a mile off the A1. After a brew and 20 minutes in the drivers footwell, bingo a new key with quality shell was handed over. Going above and beyond the call of duty, Brian discovered on the T4 that this February 2005 product had not had a pre delivery inspection as many things had not been activated electronically, so one was done 12 years late. The front passenger airbag warning light had been deactivated by removing the fuse so didn't appear on the instrument panel probably to get through an MOT. That's now corrected. Another amazing discovery was that it has a three speed cooling fan, unusual for a mark 2, but with the slow speed setting not working so over to Colwyn Bay for bits from Jules to repair this. Only one Vis motor working so a PM to Stocktake is needed for a replacement. Don't know if any other magic was done without my knowledge, but the engine appeared smoother and quieter for the remainder of journey home. Many thanks Brian. I just wish I possessed your skill and knowledge. Oh, and by the way, Brian, part of the A1 upgrade south of Catterick to Leeming Bar has been completed whilst I've been in Scotland and 50mph speed limit removed and not before time. Scotch Corner to Catterick will be completed in two weeks time after a 36 hour blockade, so anybody travelling in this area 13th, 14th, 15th October be aware that diversions will be in place.. My son lives in Germany, and he was thinking of getting an MG a few years back over there. The prices in Germany were high to say the least. Would like to get the same prices over here for them. Also it works another way round. Just before Christmas last year, as in previous post on here, I took a Mercedes SLK 320 to my son. Over in Germany the price was over twice the price I paid over here. I think it is called swings and roundabouts.

Thanks Thomas, everything came undone relatively easily, except the upper arm to trailing arm bolt - the electric impact wrench sorted that though
I did find using the threaded bar tip to remove the subframe, added a bit of awkwardness to removal. Allowing it to drop down with a trolley jack and being able manoeuvre around the various cables was difficult with the threaded bar. Removing the bars were difficult too, as the subframe tipped over a little, it added tension to the bolts. When replacing the subframe though, I jacked it up through the cables, manipulating it roughly into position, then inserted the bars once it was within a few inches of location. This allowed it to be jacked high enough keeping it straight and removed the bolts one at a time replacing them with the dog bolts. 10 minutes and it was in! I still have to put the cavity wax into the arms now though. With the MOT so close, I was fearful of it trickling out onto the tester, and p***ing him off enough to fail it lol. The first line droplink nut at the front stripped its thread before it reached the required torque So it looks perfect, but it knocks a little on right turns, which I think the tester noticed because he took it for a short test run. But ultimately couldnt fault it. It will be changed in the next week or two anyway along with the front struts and springs. It does sit much higher now at the rear, but that will be due to the old springs having snapped about 5 years ago! :O:
