It was a nice rainy day today so I went for a long walk (with the accasional stopping to keep the camera dry). With so few people around there were lots of birds out and about. Captured only a few decent ones.

Wnet out for a long walk an got caught in the rain in the middle or the New Forrest, nowhere to take shelter! Got a couple of photos once the clouds past over.

If you don't mind me asking, what was your distance from the subject in this one and what lens were you using please?

Was about 1.5-2.5 (kept moving) metres away with a 400mm lens. Olympus 410 Digital (400 or 800 iso @5.6f, can't remember exactly, about that). I cropped the photo only a little. Was a dull day, bad light, although difussed.

I'm using this lens http://www.sigma-imaging-uk.com/lens.../135-400mm.htm

I need to upgrade to at least 500mm with faster focusing. This thing is good but a bit bit slow on the auto focus.

Edit- Was raining too, can see a dash of rain near the birds tails. (only noticed it myself just now)
