Hi folks
Since it has been a week since my wife and i enjoyed the worlds most expensive pizza i thought i would just give you an update.
I spent a couple of hours in citizens advice to be told i would need to see a solicitor, and when i spoke them i was told that the cost in pursueing my grievance would probably be prohibitive and basically while the government refuses to be clear on these issues it gives a green light to the clampers. I shall chase a local councillor but i think we can all see where this is going.

Just one thought, If they have charged you for a tow truck I would ask for proof as if it is lagit they will be billed for the truck, so ask them the towing company name and contact them. If there is no proof then they are trying to obtain a false credit which is fraud, then you could say refund or report them to the police.

Stick with it mate. Dont just give up. See your local councilor that's what they are there for. Send him a letter as well with copies of all the relivant paperwork. Then get on to your local paper. Tell them what happend how you feel that you have been unfairly treated and that the fine's sky high. Then contact the clamping company. Tell them youve been to citizens advice and your solicitor. You intend to see your councilor and that youve been on to the local paper. May not help but it's worth a try.

Hi tractor boy
In their own words they said that when an operative books the job they automatically call for a truck, the £150 is for cancellation of that truck, and as for paperwork and proof lets not forget all these firms are crooks. I know what you are saying TB but these people can get anything printed out anytime by one of their mates.

What a scam and why automatically call a truck?. It would be interesting to see what the sign says as if it states a release fee of £@@ then that should be it and is there any indication on the sign that a truck is automatically deployed when the so called "Job" was booked?. Good Luck Mate.

Cheers
Tony

I'd advise chasing not only a local councillor but also surrounding areas' councillors (as obviously this same clamping operation may well be doing the same thing in surrounding areas) and definitely your MP.

This site is exceedingly useful and informative when it comes to finding and contacting our representatives.
