Yep, I get the i-phone / i-pad tether. But will it work on a non-GPS Android tablet?

Its the GPS data that you will be missing, as you cannot bluetooth tether the i-phone, as far as I know and this is the essential bit for the GPS data transfer to the Android device (not been able to prove / disprove as never used an i-phone, so could be proved wrong).

Thats some help thanks. However, I am running the bluetooth share app on both phone & tablet to achieve the GPS data share, so unless there is and app in the apple store to allow this cross platform share between iOS and Android, I think this one is a no go.
This is what I am using on the android devices, not sure if there is an Apple equivalent http://www.androidtablets.net/forum/...ur-tablet.html Cheers, Dave

Great stuff Dave. My factory head unit has just about given up the ghost, so I might pick up a cheapy one with aux in and give this a whirl.
I have the same android tablet, Acer B1, but I've not had any joy getting the Torque app talking to my Elm 327 box. I tried pairing first then launching the app, selecting the Elm box in the settings, having the fast connection disabled, but all no joy. I gave up after about half an hour, grabbed my Mrs' Samsung phone, and that connected straight away and started talking with the ECU no problems. Any tips on how you got Torque setup on your Acer tablet? |
