I presume there is a cloning tool which will duplicate the start-up volume? I would err on the side of caution, follow Marks advice re- back-up. Install a new system and reinstall all else from scratch.

Probably a bit late with my barrow but I'm new and the info about removing Norton may be useful.
Even Symantec admit that norton is a begger to remove and so, for future reference, they provide a removal tool which removes all offending files cleanly. http://service1.symantec.com/Support...05033108162039 I used this on a friends PC recently and it worked fine. Make sure you choose the right version from the links available though. rob |
