Just my 2 pence worth but it is worth remembering that both PDC and PDC sounder are part of the ZCS code sequence in the SA string.

IE. it tells the BCU they are fitted. If the signal is going through the BCU it does not know where to send it via the KBus if they are not included.
Maybe this is only for OE fit though

I suspect the vehicle needs to have the correct parts fitted prior to carrying out further fault finding.

Lates....you coud try fitting the external sounder first just to prove the system works first, before venturing down the coding route.

The sounder is on pins 2 and 8 if that helps.

My dealer has none of the forms that are required to be filled in to generate zcs codes. However I do have an alternate method being planned and my zcs codes can be reverse engineered

The vehicle will have the correct parts fitted first, in the event of the system still not working, lets be honest is pretty likely, I have a spare black multiplug I can fit with sounder and yes it will work but not in an OE kind of way.

Question is Dave, how did you retrofit and all worked ok ?

I retrofitted OE too.

Worked fine on the kitchen worktop so just installed it.

With the speakers: I'm pretty sure the impedance needs to be right. I tried one speaker and just got ticking. Tried a second and it worked fine.

In the car its A1, but testbook won't talk to it even though it's on kbus.

I suspect that the vehicle config info is used mostly by testbook to decide what it shouold and should not be talking to. PDC Cruise and lo nav are all fitted but there's no option to diagnose them on testbook.

Do we have a way of determining the codes if items are fitted? I remember some discussion a while back but it seemed to go quiet....

When I did my saloon, it was OEM with sounder under rear shelf....worked at the second attempt.

For the ZTT, I'm going to repeat the exercise, and put the sounder in the loadspace are RHS.......

I had no idea there were dirrerent types.

I'm about to install a second set on the front and have it seperatly triggered (Not reversing gear).

Now I'm worried my PDC ECU is the wrong type.
