Default Alternator...........

.........Well as the call of the siren otherwise known as Charge Fault appeared on the message centre last evening today was an early start.

Battery off, air intake duct off, leads disconnected from the alternator and cover off, followed by the regulator pack.

So what did I find?, the outer slip ring was slightly worn but not too excessive, but the brushes were shot.

Compare to new.......

So off I trot to my local rotating electrical specialist to purchase a set of brushes.

Old brushes out new ones fitted, slip rings cleaned with a small square of Scotchbrite Red, then reassembled everything.

Here is the alternator output on full load

All for the princely sum of £4.50 and a couple of hours of my time, it's one of those jobs you dread.....but it's not too bad at all

Default Fuelling Upgrade

Some of you may know that I have now got a Tourer, as the mad spaniel is not allowed on the leather seats in the saloon.

However, this Tourer is operated by diesel.

To be on the safe side, I have just completed a major upgrade on the fuelling system.
This is to help alleviate any potential problems, whilst uplifting fuel.

Yes, sorry I was meant to post a link up.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2017858633...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

£1.98 delivered and takes about 10 seconds to fit.

Thanks to member "Blackrose" who pointed me in the direction of one.
It actually works very well and is a great device for the money!
