If someone could PM me the relevant address & payee details also, I'll get around to writing a cheque out sometime soon. I'm another one who doesn't get on with PayPal, for some reason!

Could I just say, though (as a new member), that the £3 is presented as a voluntary contribution - trying to shame or embarrass people into paying is not a good way to go about it, and could actually turn some people off. Wouldn't it be better simply to emphasise the benefits of belonging to, and supporting, the club?

Moan over...
Hi Brian. I find myself very much in 2 camps here.
It is a fine gesture to say that use of the site is free but I am afraid I live in a different world where not much is free these days.
For someone taking a quick glance at the site, fine, I would not expect anyone to pay for that.
Truth is, if you own a 75 or MG ZT, you cannot fail to find invaluable information even if you don't effect any repairs/maintenance to your own car. Where info. is gleaned though, in nearly any instance, it's almost sure some saving will be made, sometimes small, but in many cases, considerable. The help given to folk with no mechanical knowledge in dealing with stealers and garages is immesurable
I can't conceive that anyone will not ask themself "what can I put back in".
£3 is almost a laugh. There is not a single 75/MG ZT owner that can afford to run their car that cannot afford £3.
Sorry, it's a 'no brainer' as they say.

I think we're saying the same thing. You're emphasising that the many benefits of membership here are worthy of a making a financial contribution, and I agree, as I suggested in my earlier post.

But to see posts saying things like "pay up" and highlighting how many new members have not made a contribution is rather different, and (IMO), such posts may be putting some people off from contributing. Let's try to encourage people rather than shame them - that's all I was saying.

I'm not trying to be critical, just offering what was intended as helpful feedback from a newcomer. Clearly this thread didn't put ME off, because my name is now red...

Have a great Easter break, everyone!
