Put her in for an MOT and service....£1370 later and she's back on the road - ouch! Both rear springs were broken, new dampers also needed, suspension arms were horribly corroded and also had to be replaced. Plus various bushes, drop links etc.

The car itself is only worth about £1000, so perhaps the work wasn't warranted on pure economic grounds. But I intend to keep her indefinitely (until I can afford a Tesla!) and the rear suspension at least won't touching for a good while hopefully!

Today i brought my Rover 75 2.0 v6 to the garage to check the power steering. The steering is very heavy and it leaks power steering fluid. I hope its something simple like a damaged hose or something.

Because its very hard to get parts here in the Netherlands. And the whole power steering pump was already replaced with another one 4 months ago. But the problem still hasnt been fixed since then.

Fingers crossed.

Well the verdict is in...the MOT has been carried out on Frosty and he's passed with no advisories

Tested on 28/08/15 @ 74081 miles, today @ 74468, a whopping 387 miles in a year, and the last time I drove it any distance was to Barton Carnival last September, a round trip of 280 miles!!

So the rest will be the 35 mile round trip to Classics in Corbridge in July, and using it for a couple of days this week to clean up the brakes, and the trip to the MOT station

I really should get out more

I drove home my new 75, she is a beauty, a 1999 1.8 Auto in Atlantic Blue with Sandstone leather interior, immediately installed my drivers cup holder, my floor mats, changed the instrument panel front as it had small cracks in it, also went to change my head unit over, but I need an adaptor. Next Job is change the wheels for a set of Serpents (but rain stopped play)

Did a little fettling today along the lines of...

Door mirror...

Matt black touch up...
Courtesy light on underside linked to internal lighting (comes on with alarm beep.)
Pre wire for chevron indicator...

And I have spent some time fiddling with replacing the velour door card with black leather... I am quite pleased with the first attempt (although it took me 4 days all in all), but I think I can improve the finish with some foam backing and a little practice....

I emptied ''Bumble's'' boot of water ...I knew the pressure washer was a bad idea............it must be the quarter light panel that's letting in water

Oil and filter, checked plenums. Then I got the car up on ramps and took the bottom mount off. Since buying it there's been a tiny amount of judder in 1st moving off and a search on here said it could be a worn mount.

Found this

Looks brand new, no wear at all. So back to the drawing board.

Started to fit another power socket for USB charging, and ran out of time, will put some pics up when finished.
Also filled and put primer on the debt in the drivers sill..... Don't ask!
