I have had the slam panel off my car for cooling fan work. Replaced the slam panel, everything seemed to line up as it should. Re-connected the splitter.
Before I shut the bonnet, I tried the bonnet release, it seemed to work fine.
I shut the bonnet and the bumper looks lower than it was to the bonnet.
Now the bonnet wont release, feels slack.
Any ideas?

*All is good now.. had someone push down on the bonnet, and it released, slackened the top bolts of the bumper, pushed in the bumper, re-tightened, dab of grease. And bobs your uncle, everything back to normal.
It is a bit slack tho the cable.

Default Bonnet release

I know this is a security issue but could somebody PM me the best way to release the bonnet on my 2000 rover 75 Classic CDT SE, just bought it, have removed the inspection cover on the above the offside wheel, the bonnet release cable has pulled completely out of the junction box and so the lever just moves with no resistance and doesn't operate the catch, the junction box has obviously fallen to bits, what can I do to release the bonnet? the car is otherwise immaculate
