I'm so pleased that I had the opportunity to meet Derek at so many owners club events..
However my lasting memory of him will not be owners club related but of watching him marching proudly along Weymouth seafront at many of the towns veterans day parades. I shall lay a flower at the memorial for him at next years event. Jan and I would like to pass our heart felt sympathies to Lillian and all his family and friends at this very sad time. RIP Derek you were a true gentleman Regards Ian Last edited by Ian G; 18th December 2017 at 17:02.. |

I never had the pleasure of meeting Dereck or his wife So I am deeply sorry to hear this sad news knowing that I will now never have the opurtunity to do so.
I can see that he was a well respected member of this club and I can only reiterate all that has been said in all of the comments that have been posted.. R.I.P Windrush....(Dereck)

A sad loss of a wonderful gentleman. Derek was always a pleasure to speak to at the meets, he made time to speak to my late father at the meetings as well.
Our condolences to Lillian and family. Craig.

Derek
A few months ago Derek and I had a PM conversation about all the work that he did for the club. The great touch of always wishing folk a 'happy birthday' among other things that make such a difference to clubs and the like. I am very glad I did now.
RIP Derek. A true gent who will be sadly missed by all of us on here but more importantly by his loving family. My very best wishes are with you. Chris |
