Thanks very much for that reply Rob, puts my mind at rest for tomorrow, I fancy option 2 myself, like the idea of a bit more power, will have to have a word with SHMBO to see if any pennies to spare as off to Switzwerland for hols soon, might have to raid liquid refreshment money.
Do have to inform your insurance or DVLA about these mods and does it put up the cost of your insurance? Thanks once again, it really is appreciated.Cheers KB :lol::lol: |

No requirement to inform DVLA
Insurance Company should be Informed as it is a Modification. Some Companies Won't Insure and some try to Rip you off, Have a look around. Don't say its for Performance Increase though, it is to Improve Torque for Towing and is for Safety, (no stuttering at Junctions) and matching MAF to engine, Albeit it does increase the BHP slightly. The above worked for me and didn't have to pay any extra, just added to Policy. If only they had went this well straight from the MGRover factory! (My internet connection has dropped down to dial up speeds so not been here much recently as patience isn't one of my virtues! It was provided by Eutelsat but the Goauld took out the satellite I think) Ron Be back to normal (Bt broadband) once house move is complete on the 15th.

Hi all, just to let you all know went from Brum to Chelmsford and back today, round trip of 312 mile, car went like a dream considering I had unplugged the MAF switch. This must have been deteriorating at a very gradual un-noticeable rate becauce even when the MAF is not connected, which cannot be right for the car, the difference in running was quite staggering so cannot wait to order the parts from Roverron to see what additional performance will be obtained.
Have decided I'm going to oder the Pierburgh maf + Synergy 2 option. Tell me please, once the new Pierburgh maf has been fitted is much of a problem to connect the Synergy thingy bit to it, don't think I got the hang of that one yet. Also, think diesel consumption has also improved as when I got home fuel gauge needle just on the other side of the line for half tank, not bad what. Cheers KB |

just goes to show what garages are like, they would have cost you a small fortune and the car would have still been running NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-.
also shows they didnt even try the simple disconnect the MAF trick i wonder how many people have been ripped off by garages that dont really know whats wrong with your car and are just guessing its the ecu and once again these froums come up trumps with the answer, you really cant beat places like this to save people lots of money
