Plus, if you suspect any malware might be active on your pc download and run the free version of Malwarebytes - try the quick scan for starters then do a full scan if the quickie reveals nowt. The full scan can take a couple of hours or more depending on the spec of your pc .:xmas-smiley-024:

Done that & all the items are ticked,but the ones i need say, stopped,mostly the microsoft ones.Some are running,but most stopped,i have no sound from the speakers,so that's been stopped as well.Just done a full,& i mean,full, scan,9 hours with Kaspersky,no issues,so i've backed up all files in case i need to re-install.But why have all the microsoft/windows stuff been stopped?Thanks for all your help btw,may do Harry's idea tomorrow,can't be bothered tonight.

All sorted now,just did what you advised Harry,rebooted using cd & saving data to my backup file,all windows working as normal.Thank you all for the helpful advice.
