A sad day for Rangers. i do think they were sometimes wasteful with there money, a Daniel Prodan springs to mind.
I never thought it would have come to this for them though.

i can remember when david murray was in charge they lost out buying a player (whom i can,t remember) to i think sunderland(?) and he then came out with a team like rangers will never be outbid again for another player by an english team, and sure enough they spent like it there was no tomorrow. now i don,t support rangers or any other team really but enjoy watching a decent game, imo it bit late to point fingers and say it,s murray,s fault as he got rid of them so he won,t dip into his pocket and save them, wheres the cash from the ticket company gone? either way scottish football needs rangers to remain as they do celtic, who were in similar position till wee fergus stepped up. think of the knock on effect of no rangers (or celtic) no disrespect to other teams but they wont earn the cash or interest to keep the league much above amateur level the national team will get worse (if possible). a lot at stake here and it don,t look good.

That's no great feat when you only have one other team to compete against.

All teams in scotland had their heyday , at any given time Hearts , hibs , aberdeen and dundee utd ruled the roost up here , the old firm havn't always had it their own way , both rangers and celtic have had barren periods where they won nothing . In the late 50s thru to the mid 60s celtic won nothing and in the early to mid 80s aberdeen and dundee utd cleaned up. |
