The A470 is a windy road, but good fun! Yeah, we don't have pin straight roads over here, but we also don't have IKEA's to distract us with

The A470 sounds as though it would be fun in the Staaaaaaag
IKEA...mmm don´t go there much nowadays (there is one 10 mins from me). Quality of the furniture is a bit iffy. NO, solid wood stuff from the 30s, 40s and 50s is best (mind you we have an old house - 1923). Utencils and ancillary things are cheap and okay though |

My house is filled with stuff from IKEA Sadly, the Stag has gone to pastures new But only to make way for the Lotus to come back to the road, the earliest remaining example of an Elan +2 in existance Sadly, it's brown

I'll take some of it in it's resting place in the garage, though you can't see very much of it at the mo. I don't have any recent shots of it, it's been off the road for, holy hell! 9 years It was silver, but painted Porsche bitter chocolate brown in 1973, when it was just 6 years old It's going back silver, I owe to it to the Lotus community and indeed the nation to paint it the original colour Now where did I put my blo-pens

73, year before I can out of the army. 6 months hols in the UN on Cyprus. Swanning around in a Land Rover or sitting on the back of one of the pilots TR4. I agree, original is best (silver though)
Now that the snow has nearly all gone, have to kick the lightweight into action and try the sliding tow ball I´ve put on it |

I know, but metallic silver on a 60's british sports car That was stuff of dreams then, which goes some way to explaining why a little plastic car from Norfolk costed just £50 less than a 4.2 Jaguar E-Type when new! And then there's the engine 1588cc Lotus twin-cam and ours has been breathed upon by such names as Osseli and Cosworth, and with the whole car having doen just 9155 miles from new, it's a real rarity

Suprisingly, it's not worth a great amount, as the plus 2 has always been snuffed at by elan experts. But it's less noddy car then a drop top elan as it's bigger and nicer to drive. A good sprint fetches £40k but a good plus 2 only fetches £15k max, but prices are finally rising. Yey! I'm still looking through all the old photos to find a proper picture of it.
