![]() I've just been having a look at the route. Now, excuse any ignorance on my behalf as I don't know the area nor have I travelled there in a long time, but from what I can gather...
Would it be sensible, to stay on the M5, going through Bristol and maybe leaving the M5 further down south, say Junction 23 joining A38 and then turning left onto A372 (heading East) until it joins the A303 (still heading East) until we reach Sparkford, then it's a short stretch up the A359 to the museum. Would staying on the M5 avoid much of the problems in and around Bristol or is the M5 affected heavily too (even on a Sunday morning)...? |

![]() Sadly Im not going (Working) but If I was, Id just press the TrafficMaster button tell her where Im going and that is basically it (dead Lazy when I don't know where Im going) and back it up with the Sat Nav just in case. Generally seems to steer me round most problems.
Most probally avoiding the MGR 75/ZT convoy to! LOL. |

![]() More stops can be worked in if needed, at the moment though, this first stop was so everyone from North of Strensham could join together as some of us are spread far and wide.
If there is enough interest we can add another stop further down south. The route I proposed above is just my idea to avoid Bristol which a few members have said is a nightmare regarding traffic. Me and everyone else are entirely open to suggestions/route changes and the like. |

![]() I am inclined to agree, going via Junction 23 adds about 15 miles to the alternative of taking the more direct routes but probably will be the quickest
I would say unless on the day TMC or Traffic master starts reporting serious holds ups (South bound) then lets come off there then that leaves 25 miles of nice countryside to drive through There is also a convenient side road just off the Motorway exit to meet up with others coming from the South West or South Wales for example called Puriton Hill http://local.live.com/?v=2&sp=Point....on%2520Hill___ Timbop can pick us up along that part of the route if he likes. Right, off out Bowling now back later |

![]() Here is the initially proposed route, in map-form. It details the junction leaving the M5 and follows the route to the museum in Sparkford.
EDIT (5th March): Now updated to include Keith's suggestion to avoid Bridgewater. Click here to view map (big file, best viewed full-screen) Last edited by Simon; 5th March 2007 at 21:32.. Reason: Updated map |
