After me and eurorover wyn done some head scratching over this it looks like the only option is that the head is comeing back off this weekend to see where the oil is getting passed the gasket, and to check all my liners and the hights before maby fitting a new gasket, we will just have to see when the head comes off

Now then dan ! Could you possibly point me in the right direction when it comes to fitting the oil catch tanks, like which pipes you linked to.

I have just removed the one that goes from the crank case to the inletmanifold, but be careful there is a one way valve that must go back the right way, as it allows crank case prussue to flow in to the inlet but stops boost prussue from the inlet flowing the other way

Does it catch significant amounts of oil like the V6 does?

Nope it's been on there about a year now and it's completely dry, it's more of a precatunary mesure and for a bit of engine bling lol

It just wasn't high enough to show on the pipe on the side, so I guess that goes to show that it has indeed been doing its job

oil leak form the corner of the head, it looks as if it was comeing around form the out side of the dowel and then ither dripping down the front of the gearbox or tracking right across the front all the way to the other side and then settling on the engine mount, so both dowels have been changed head and block all cleaned up and head was put back on with a new gasket and bolts that's as far as we got tonight before the horrid darkness drew in
