I remember reading road tests on the Yamaha LC250 in the noughties reporting 28-29MPG. It also ate tyres.

My son bought one of the new sporters.
Looks great and goes well but very quiet - weirdly apart from a relatively noisy top end. Personally I'd go for an older Sportster - if I didnt already have two Ariels:¬).

Remember years ago my parents went to a birthday doo at a restaurant in a wee village about ten miles from here. The arrangement was they'd take the car, get a taxi home then I'd take my father on the bike (VFR750 at the time) to collect the car the following morning. Only helmet I had for my father was an open face, on the way to collect the car I heard a voice behind me say "I've got a face like a smacked backside!"

The V-Max MPG was so bad when I was simply riding to work and back and it wasn't far enough to warm up.
