I personally rate B&B parts, but do question the presentation of "facts" in relation to Luk slaves in some threads.
I'm only going off the numbers I have here, if I see an influx of B&B failures of course I'll act accordingly.

We can only go off the data we're given, and as I've sold well over 100 Slaves, I'm happy to count on the B&B units as reliable (at least for now).

People will buy what they like at the end of the day - and I'm very much aware that a lot of replacement clutch and slave kits fitted to the 75/ZT are LuK, and I also bet a lot of those will outlive the cars they're fitted to.
Each to their own.

My LUK master on my old MGZT lasted 9 months before leaking. Gone down the B&B/Tazu route with Matt this time.

Interesting, and added to the list. Definitely sticking with B&B for now...

Whilst not wishing to spoil the party (me, never ), I am genuinely interested in knowing if there are real trends below the surface. This is because I don't readily believe that the obvious conclusion that is being reached is necessarily the correct one. There are other possible and equally viable conclusions.

It would be helpful if those who have suffered failures with the Luk slaves indicate what type of individual fitted the failed item and whether the master cylinder was replaced at the same time.

Thank you in advance to anyone who provides this level of information.

A good point, as poor fitting can shorten the life of the Slaves by an alarming degree. If the Slave isn't fitted completely flat to the gearbox body, it's obviously not going to be very good for the bearing assembly.

I'm not sure who fitted my LuK slave, and it may be some time before it's replaced. I'll post some pics when it's changed and ask the guy who changes it whether there was anything not fitted right. Like yourself, I'd like to know if if it's a manufacturing fault or down to someone's incompetence.

interesting debate!

andi has fitted hundreds of LUK slaves ( including mine) and not had any complaints. he knows what he is doing and could probably do it blindfolded.

a few people report LUK slaves failing- how do we know they werent installed incorrectly? we dont.

but i'd rather trust the word of andi who is the forum's clutch genius and has a wealth of experience than one of anecdotal claims where we dont know who installed them.

as stated previously, B&B rebrand the LUK slave as their own. why would they do this if it wasnt up to the job?

Think its the LUK slave being discussed not the master , very easy for people to get confused then this gives the wrong information about the fail rate.

Anecdotal claims? Read my posts again.
I have a lot of experience with the clutches, my garage fits them and I've had several members have the work done so far - I'm not just a numpty from the street.
