Let me give you a few examples of the benefits of the metric system:

1 meter = 100 cm = 1000 millimeters
1 sqm = 10000 sqcm
1 cbm = 1 metric ton of water or 1000 kg
1 liter water = 1 kg or 1000 grams
10 meter of water (depth) = 1 atmosphere (pressure) or 1 kg/sqcm

Now someone give me the same in the Imperial system
(I knew we Danes shouldn't have left England so soon)

Spôôk
Easy
1 inch, as most Englishmen can visualise 6 of these and multiply by 2 = Foot
Foot the average length of said item
Yard a large pace ie. 50 paces 50 yards, uncomfortable to pace metres
Acre the area a man with horse drawn plough can cultivate in 1 day
Chain The length of a cricket pitch, how do they measure in Denmark?
Pint sensible size for a beer glass, especially when full as in England only.
Gallon 8 pints, when drinking beer the point at which you wish you had not drunk the other 7.

re driving on the left, I understand Napoleon invented driving on the right.
we invented driving on the left so that if you met an enemy coming the other way you could defend yourself by having your sword in the hand facing the enemy.
Napoleon met us twice on the road and cut himself badly.
Re. time the whole worlds time system is based on Greenwich otherwise days would be 100 hours and we would have to work a 33 hour day. I wouldnt like that.
PS Danish beer is not better, its colder !! Dave

The answer (rounded to the nearest inch) is 18,782,612,515,216,446 inches.

In words, that is: 18,782 Trillion, 612 billion, 515 million, 216 thousand and 446.

By my calculations, it broke my little phones built-in calculator. Luckily, PowerToys super-calc saved the day with it's 512 floating-point precision.

But due to rounding the anwer could very well be on Fridays

Yeah - I got the sarcasm. Sorry!

Maybe I should have emphasised the sarcasm in my reply that was playing along with your sarcasm.

EDIT: Maybe I should have thought through my attempted-sarcasm reply a bit more thoughroully. (Note to self - make more sense!)
