I went out to buy a wedgwood blue and when I thought I had found one I couldn't quite work out the 'sheen' on the paintwork.(dealer hadn't a clue!) At that stage i wasn't aware of the monogram colours which research led me to discover I had found a mirage 2. I bought it and love it, also managing to find a chrome grille.
I am yet to find an the opportunity to park next to an actual wedgwood blue so that I can compare the difference in colour. In different light you can see the change in colour from blue through to silvery grey but on photos it's hard to see the difference. Anyone know whether the 'base' blue on mine is wedgwood?

Ah, maybe mine is mirage then as looking at your numberplate it's about the same age - when it's a bit dirty, the sun isn't shining and you park it next to an older MK1 you can't see any difference in colour however! In that case mirage is definitely the best paint for a MK1

Thanks. Yes def IAU. It frequently attracts admirers, it's very satisfying.

I agree, that's why I want to get it stood alongside one! But as I said, in certain light it looks more silver, I'm just not good enough with a camera to capture it!
