Well I bought the ZR today Thomas, really nice car in tip top condition, its done an average of 3000 miles a year the MOT history confirms it full service history too with belts done.
Tell you whats nice to see, I dont know if its the same chap, but look on this google street view of the previous owner road and look whats parked behind it, hopefully he was / is and MG fan. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&so...07.99,,0,28.48 Step son is very happy ill tell him your story and hope he keeps this for a good long while. Simon

How Sad, make that hope he was an MG fan, I have just googled the previous owner (not sure I should name him, even though from reading his obituary he doesnt leave any decendents) but he died in April 2010.
From Googling him, he seemed to be quite a well known organist and seems fondly remembered. I shall ensure step lad takes even more care of his car. That makes sense to the cars history, its only done 230 miles since the last MOT in March 2010. Google is very scary at times. RIP Simon

I had a brand new MG ZR+ 120 in X Power grey back in 2003. Picked it up from the Dealership in Solihull. Inside it smelt just the same as a brand new Montego we had in '97.
Quite good fun to drive but unfortunately 3 months later someone pulled out in front of me at a round about and that was the end of her She lives on apparently as someone rebuilt her but no idea on what registration unfortunately. |

Not a ZR but I used to be the proud owner of a Metro 1.4 16v GTI and I loved it! went like a rocket, could punch well above its wieght.
turning circle of a small ship due to the big fat tyres and the brakes were woefully inadequite. being 6'4" and a 20 stone rugby player at the time I didn't so much get in to it as put it on! Ahhhh see what youve started I'm getting all nostalgic now, what I would really love is my dad's old mk1 MG metro! what a car! Richard |
