I pre-warned them that you never spend any money, so there was no point in asking

You can't reverse a milling or turning operation anymore than you can sent raindrops back up to the clouds.. I hate the use of stupid phrases made up by some idiot in a sales office. They should have let an engineer write the article, that way I might have gotten some usefull information.

I'm not saying it doesn't work, what I am asking for is some sort of demonstrable proof.. for me personally, the jury is still out innit..

The garage staff were very very nice people, and their workshop was a credit to them, all in all it was a very nice place to visit and hold a meeting..

I agree with you James.
As another person who has spent half his life in precision engineering I need scientific proof, not 'it feels so much better'.

It won't make the car run any better than it did when new.

For those who say they can really feel a difference then all I can say is they have never done any correct maintenance on their car.

Engines that have regular oil and filter changes DON'T get fouled up with modern detergent oils.
They stay CLEAN inside.

Spend your money on maintenance and don't waste it on these so called wonders. Most of them are cons waiting to catch gullible fish.

There are lots of people with lots of ideas of how to con you out of your hard earned money.
Keep your hands in your pockets.

Do any of you guys remember Pyramid selling ??

Smacks of that.

Seemingly once over 2L engine size the price goes up. I'm not sure about any improvement that could be made. My 75 runs on fully synthetic and is flushed on each oil change every 5k plus the fuel system has a unipart cleaner about every 5k so I imagine it's fairly clean anyway.

I am the OP, and to be honest I was complemented on the maintenance of my car only a couple of days ago by another member.

The autobox changing up earlier is just another example of the extra torque the process has provided. That is logically obvious.

Please explain how providing a service has anything to do with pyramid selling.

I remember those schemes - at a loose end, I actually attended one of their (Golden Products) meetings, before I had ever heard of such things. The guy at the top of the pyramid sold a load of the product to the next layer down. The next layer down sold to the next layer below them and so it went on.

Each layer on the way back up paid a larger and larger percentage to the level above them. So as the product got to the bottom of the pile, it became completely unsaleable due to high cost. The only ones likely to make anything, were the ones at the top.

I was the first to walk out the door

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

Ok ,got you.

What you are saying is your engine has been returned to how it was when it was sold by Rover.
Must have been in a bit of a state if you could actually feel all that difference.

Did you buy it in that condition ???

To get compliments you must have put quite a lot of work in on it.

As you say ,'not sure about any improvement'.

Had to fix a head gasket on my wife's, nearly 200,000 mile, car, and the insides of the engine were extremely clean. All due to regular oil and filter changes.

Your car would be the same.

In my opinion regular maintenance removes the need for these super cleaners that can sometimes do more harm than good.
