An odd thread this

I hope the OP either gets the car sorted or sold on/disposed of in a humane fashion.

With the price of scrap being what it is these days Dave well worth investing a couple of quid to sell it on here.

Very true, especially given the amount of work done / money spent.

I know how they feel, I've came very close to cutting my losses with the shed I've got but hopefully everything is going to go OK now the smoke has gone!

I know exactly how the OP felt, I am sure quite a few of us know actually.

My ZTT has been a total headache at times and I have been so wound up by it I have even text Brian (Marinabrian) asking if he wants it lol. I have persevered though (and my poor bank balance has taken a serious bashing) and it is now hopefully at the stage where technical issues come one at a time and don't hurt too much to get sorted out.

The biggest saver of my car though has been the advice from this club and the physical presence of Brian...seriously if I had had no back up in the beginning then I would have had no option but to cut my losses.

I think I'm at a stage now where I have put so much time and money in the car to bring it up to a livable with standard that there's no turning back for me...a good example was my MOT on Friday when I was told it needed a drivers side wishbone and a passenger side track rod end at a cost of £180 parts and labour... I didn't even bat an eyelid and just booked a time for them to do the work lol.

Hopefully the car is 99% mechanically sound now and I can finally concentrate on it's exterior.

If I was told tomorrow it needs a new engine I would drop one in to keep it going...it will now take unrepairable damage before I give up but as long as whatever goes wrong can be replaced, fixed or repaired the Beast will continue.

DONE: HAD A CRAZY IDEA THAT I HAD TO GET RID OF MY MG ZTT DUE TO NOT HAVING A DRIVE AND HAVING TO PARK ON A BUSY STREET WITH A VIEW TO GETTING ANOTHER ONE AT A LATER DATE WHEN I HAVE A DRIVE.

ENDED UP REALISING IT REALLY ISN'T PRACTICAL NOT HAVING A CAR TO GET AROUND AND I NOW OWN A VW EOS 3.2 V6 INDIVIDUAL (1 OF 20 REMAINING IN THE UK WITH THAT ENGINE AND TRIM COMBO) EVEN THOUGH I STILL LIVE ON A BUSY ROAD WITHOUT A DRIVE
