PS, glad to hear that you are not red & shiny (post 26 above). My own 75 is Lagoon and shiny and as much as I love it, I must concede that the darker colours seem more photogenic. The dark blue and dark red models show off the chrome to maximum effect.

No all the exhibits (inc. Lord Austin's Office) are well hidden away. I'll see if I can get an update.

In the meantime, here's a pic of R40's trophies, usually found on my mantle piece (except the Big Un!)

MG Rover had invited us during the first international meet in Luxembourg.

That was Cowley as if you look at the bottom of the front doors you will see the chrome engine derirative.This was dropped once production moved to Longbridge.

Hi,

The engine torpedo badges did survive into the early Longbridge days, though by mid 2001 Project Drive saw them disappear.

That's one impressive haul of trophies Mike.

I presume you have had to keep R40 in a totally original state in order to earn them. If so, what impact would treatments like the Rustmaster protection have on future shows? It obviously protects the car for the long term, but at the same time perhaps takes away some of the originality. Is this likely to be an issue?
