Got a couple over on the two-sixties with over 100k on them
Mines coming up for 70k and the only failure I've had is a manifold to downpipe gasket £4 plus £30 labour to fit Not bad repair cost/mile I'd say |

Hundreds of oil burners out there with 150,000+ miles still going strong, not enough V8's with significant miles to make a real comparrison. A diesel will do 70K easily with just one oil change and chug along nicely! Dont get me wrong, I love the V8, and i'll own one before i'm 6ft under but so far as I can tell, a diesel is the only one I can jump in day after day and forget about bar some basic maintenance....

But they only built 883 V8's however you do not need to treat the V8 with kid gloves, just jump in a DRIVE
Mine gets the regular service it needs and a check over every other week or so Oil changes are a little more frequent at 5k though Your only in Hastings not a million miles from me so if you want a blast in a V8 let me know Last edited by Ragman; 13th October 2011 at 22:53.. |

I have been lucky enough to have the pleasure and it was all goooooooood, made me ashamed to keep my IPK on MPG - whats the point on a V8!!!! I'd just be green with envy going above 56mph

I know! just done £650 ish on a clutch and replacement after a bodge!!! suffering from wallet surgery!!!! But 1.8's? Be realistic - it's only good for another 100 miles well if it's a turbo maybe less......
