The pins on the original pump did have green mould on a few pins. To be sure, to be sure as my mum would have said, I'm going to cut the old plug off and solder and heat shrink on a replacement. Surely then, all will be well. I just hope the pins on the pump are all ok and not bent.

Can you not use a cleaning fluid brushed in and left to soak. Really would save you a lot of hassle if done carefully.

Unfortunately the plastic face of the connector has been damaged so despite the hassle, I’ll have to replace the connector.

So the update is... Thanks to Terry Shaw, I have another ABS pump connector / plug. I've cut and spliced it in. Cleared all faults on TOAF and given it a try. The Brake warning light is now off as is the ABS warning so definite progress. The traction control warning is on so for now, I've just disabled it in IPK / TOAF.

So, I can drive without any warning on. However, there is a brake issue... When braking, the brake pedal pumps, you can feel and hear a noise under foot.

Any thought as to what may be the cause?

It is a rhythmic pulsating sound or sensation on the brake pedal. I'd call it a clonking sound. It only seems to happen at slow speed, maybe 15MHP and lower.

If the pedal feels as if it's being sucked away from your foot pressure in time with the noise, that sounds like the ABS operating.

That’s probably what it feels like but why would the ABS be activated?

Funnily enough I'm assisting a friend with a similar problem except that his noise isn't a definable clonking, more a coarse grinding but, like yours, occurs only when speed has reduced to walking pace.

Current theories are rust particles causing a sensor signal equivalent to a locked wheel (posted by Arctic) or a wheel bearing (on DMGRS' parts listing). A garage is initially going to blow out the area around the sensors so I might have an answer for you early next week.

Terry Shaw has said, ‘It's normally rear rust build up on the rear back plates, behind the wheel bearing abs pick up points.
Rear brakes is my first point of call with that problem' So you’re both saying the same thing.
