Posted my thoughts about the wide angle shot further on in the thread. Looking at it again, the Jag does not appear to be as wide as the ZT on the cover of the owners manual that i mentioned!!

And lets be right about it, who can afford 65K??? I certainly can't that is why i said that i will have to wait till they come to under sub 10K. That is more like the replacement money that a lot of folk on here would have possibly paid when they got their cars a good few years back i would think.

Hope that my 75 CDTi tourer and 260 saloon continue to serve me for many more years but if forced to change it would be a second hand VW Passat CC or the Chrysler 300C as saloon or estate, a real love or hate car but I love their brutal road presence, whereas the Passat CC is an understated good looking car. Jaguar XF lovely looking car but way outside my price bracket.

Considering the XF is a larger class and much more expensive, for the 75 I'd say Lexus IS220 and for the ZT I'd say Alfa Romeo 159.

The Hyundai i40's sister car, the Kia Optima reminds me of the XF from the rear and side:

I think the Suzuki Kizashi has some similar character traits to the ZS180 & ZT190 being a chunky, sporty V6:

Looking forward to the new small Jag.

I would love an xf, the SV8 version which was the original top of the range on before the xfr came out can now be had for under 20k, i did look at one on private sale a few months back for 15k with 50,000 odd on the clock. it has the 4.2 supercharged v8 not the new 5.0 but is still alot of car. sadly the time was not right.

my situation has changed a bit so my next purchase is likely to be a a C5 tourer, the 2.0 diesel auto.

Richard

p.s. i would certainly consider the mg6 diesel but only if they do introduce the rumored double clutch auto box as the missus doesn't drive manuals.
