The people I work for have a fleet of about 1000 (1K) ! cars. Every single one is brand new. Once your car has 6K miles on the clock or the reg. is over a year old the car gets sold on and replaced with a brand new one. I really can't get to the bottom of how they work that financially, I always thought you lost money on a car the minute you take it off the forecourt. Still, I suppose they never have garage bills, low road tax and gives the company a good image. Who knows ? I for one wont be buying brand new ( large amount of cash windfall excepted )

The 190's are the next best model down from the V8 to preserve IMO.
Get it sorted pronto !!

They are very cheap to restore compared to say a Merc ......

Agreed - an SBC unit alone will cost the owner between £1100 and £1800 once it has implemented the preset number of brake activations.

To be honest it all boils down to one thing, do you *want* to do it? Cars are money pits. If you love it,not simply like, you'll have the motivation to get you through what it needs. Time is also important. Don't expect to have it done quickly. That's when you get fed up when things go wrong! I found that out the hard way! ☺

Because of the volume of cars they are buying every year they get a huge fleet discount from the manufacturer. When they sell on they only have a small loss and all it has cost them is fuel and road tax. These cars end up on car supermarkets (Motorpoint, Cargiant etc)

Thanks for the responses. I had just got to one of those point where I felt completely fed up. We all hit that point, sometime.

I have a short term plan that will enable me to get on the road this week, and then continue as a rolling project.

I forgot, all I needed to do was start the engine and listen to the sound of the kv6 to feel reinspired!

Just remember that there's zero depreciation and, make a good job of each repair and keep good records and, if and when you pass her on, you'll get good money back.

Only way to not spend money on cars is to buy a bike !
