do you guys believe in the starter,?.
I'd be thinking starter motor yes.

Before I even thought of replacing it I'd check it was getting the right amount of power by using a voltmeter at the solenoid's positive connection and attempting to start the car.

The contacts on these starter motors wear ridges over time. You can replace the contacts with a kit that can be bought on eBay for a tenner. That's the most common cause in my experience.

Going into winter you don't want anything as vital as the starter motor giving you reliability issues so you may want to just source a replacement on eBay fairly cheaply.

Default Starter Motor

HI Lee & Sergio.
Sounds like the contacts and plunger have seen better days, clicking the link below should help you find the answers you both need, and give instructions.

Lee albeit for the diesel once you remove the V6 Auto starter same applies good luck to you both Arctic.

That's fine, in the mean time check and clean the small spade end in the photo's below, make sure it is completely tight, also check all connections for corrosion if any green clean them, and smear with Vaseline, good luck and let us know how you get on cheers Arctic

So, a small upadte today...
Arrived from work and went to follow your advice Steve, so clean conections and Leads and saw that the small spade conector das not tight, it was not well pressed... So cleaned everything with WD40, and everything is tight nos and cleaned...

About the small conector...

Could the issue of not starting could Also be because of that small spade being not well fitted as i notice today beford cleaning???

And what is the function of that small spade conector???

Thanks.

so everyone here....

hope final update here...

so changed contacts and plunger on my starter and the car wouldn t start also...
just the clicks like before...

started to became a bit worried...

so decide to take the starter to a electrician to see if it was really ok... and guess what, it was perfect,,,, he told that i had a suplly issue, because it was not reaching enough power to the starter so it can rotate the engine...

went to my place again, assemble the starter again, and the car continued to refuses to start...

checked the leads and the cables, everything was ok....

then thot about the battery, remember that interior lights, outer lights, dash and radio was working perfecly normal... not a sign of bad battery...

my dad was with me, so told him give me battery from is car with power cables connected to both batteries and guess... it starts first time...

so went to buy a baterie 71 640ah and its working perfect... first single click...

please when checking the starter, also check the baterie, in my case the starter contacts were almost paper thin, but the baterie also died without warning lights...

remember that had no baterie symptoms, never thot about it also...

lets see the next days, but believe its solved, so new contacts as artic advised and a new baterie was also needed in my issue...

hope this helps everyone...

and if anyone needs new contacts, and the plunger for the starter, i now have a packed and unused ones, because i bought two sets by mistake.....

thanks all...
