Genuine Petrol and Diesel pumps in.
Some of the cheaper pattern inserts just don't last.

That's good to know. After getting caught out a few times with cheap pattern stuff I don't bother with it anymore.

1. look in the How to Forum : Car Interior. If you scroll through the entries you will find one by Mike and another By Tcut, both explain how to remove the rear seat cushion and Tcut's also show how to make a broom handle gizmo, which is great for removing the seat on your own, and putting it back on. Also no need to remove seat belts. The buckles, push back through the seat cutouts and the strap pull the slack through and prop the seat on the drivers headrest.

2. I really took my time, so it took me about 3 hours.

3. The best price I've found for the underbonnet pump is £94 inc Del from Roverbreakers. tel: 01606 738873.

So I reckon about £175 to do both pumps. I've read that some people have paid about £600 to have it done by a dealer or garage. If you're prepaired to have a go yourself, it's the way to go. regards, JRT.
You are right. Cost Warranty Direct £472 for the in tank pump and £172 for the under bonnet pump by ex Rover dealer using O/E parts for my CDTi

Okay update for my problem. I've been away a bit so have only just got round to getting hold of the car. TC, the filter is completely different from the ones in pictures. There is no housing at all to be "orange clipped" so I'm a bit unsure of where to go. The relay panel is in the engine bay as opposed to the glove box and no pictures match it. Hopefully these pics upload properly. I'm on my mobile.

You have the early filter module. Not affected by FFS so orange clip is unnecessary.

Believe me, it's located behind the glove box. You have to remove the under-panel to see it. Use thin coin to release the two turnbuckles.

Agree with TC.
For Petrol variants :
Pump should run for couple of seconds if engine not started.

But this is a diesel thread

Thanks arctic. I'll do that. Quick one though. I don't have the setup in the picture. It's kind of a mix between the two. I'm a little confused now.
